2 Tips For Business and Instagram Marketing
As you begin to build your brand's online presence, there are just a few things I want to be sure you KNOW + take advantage of in regards to Instagram.
We'll call these series of tips… Instagram-For-Business 101.
#1 — Is your Instagram account a Business, Creator, or Personal account?
Head to the three lines in the top left corner of your profile, hit Settings, scroll down to click on Account, scroll down to click on Switch account type — two options will pop up (Business, Personal, Creator). Which ever one of those three options does not pop up, is what your account is…make sure it is a BUSINESS account.
Do not waste time going crazy over insights, but it is helpful to check in once in awhile. You can see insights on each post.
This is also insightful on your posts: # of likes || # of comments || # of shares || # of saves
Why make sure your account is a Business Account?
Because you can get analytics on your page to figure out what posts gain the most attention, best times and days to post. See where the majority of your followers are located, see how many people saved or sent your picture and the biggest reason is because YOU ARE A BUSINESS.
Again, do not spend tons of time on this.
The insight I pay most attention to are the SAVES tab because it shows whether or not a post was helpful.
Even if I don't have 10k+ followers, seeing that out of the 20 people that like my post, 12 of. them saved it lets me know this was a helpful post for the people that DO trust me enough to stick around my IG.
#2 — HASHTAGS…yes they really are important!
I created a FREE account at IQhashtags.com. I click the three little lines, click “Search Hashtags” and enter the main one I want to build my relevant hashtags off.
Examples: brandingphotography, portlandphotographer. You might use oregonrealtor, portlandlashes, pdxlashtech, portlandstudio, portlandbusinessconsultant, pnwwaxing
Hit search, then “trends”
Click the boxes for up to 30 hashtags you want to copy.
Click the purple copy button at the bottom, and then paste these into your notes app.
I have multiple sets of 30 hashtags.
If you spend 5-7 minutes right now creating a few different sets in your notes app, all you have to do is copy + paste into the comment section of your post!
This is a HUGE way people will find you + people can now follow hashtags themselves, so get to tagging!
That’s all for now :)
